(DailyAnswer.org) – Actress and singer Bette Midler has suggested that President Joe Biden should arrest Republican Congress members and approve use of deadly force by the FBI to take back a Democratic House majority. The actress, who starred in Disney’s Hocus Pocus 2, painted an imaginary scenario in a post on X that involved Biden arresting multiple Republicans, including House Speaker Mike Johson. In the post Midler fantasized about Republican Ohio Representative Jim Jordan being shot and killed.
The actress also lashed out at criticism of First Lady Jill Biden in July, accusing MAGA Republicans and their supporters of being hateful “bullies”. Midler claimed that conservatives were only attacking Jill because she was a woman in a position of power. Critics have accused the first lady of “elder abuse” following mounting concerns about the president’s mental and physical wellbeing.
In June former President Donald Trump called Midler a “washed up psycho” when she apologized for sharing a quote falsely attributed to him that called Republicans the dumbest voters in the country. Trump called her a “scammer”, comparing her post to the “Fake News Media”.
Midler is not the first Hollywood star to call for violence against and the arrest of Republicans. Robert DeNiro, when speaking on behalf of the Biden campaign outside Trump’s hush-money criminal trial in May, said the former president should “absolutely” be sent to prison. Orange is the New Black actress Lea DeLaria recently called on Biden to assassinate Trump. DeLaria compared Trump to Hitler, suggesting that if Biden did not blow him up, Trump would do the same to Democrats.
Biden and the Democrats have repeatedly accused the former president of being a threat to democracy. Midler concluded her fantasized scenario by saying that the gridlock is broken thanks to the Supreme Court.
Actress Rosie O’Donnell spoke along the same lines, arguing that as a president is supposedly above the law, Biden is allowed to order assassinations of political opponents. The comments follow a ruling by the Supreme Court that has granted Trump a degree of immunity, marking a significant victory for the former president in the year of the election that could work in his favor in his multiple legal cases.
