Chelsea Clinton Seeks UK Role if Harris Succeeds

(DailyAnswer.org) – Chelsea Clinton really wants to be ambassador to the United Kingdom, and she might be the next one, if Kamala Harris wins the November election. An anonymous source speaking with corporate press indicated that the reason Bill and Hillary Clinton came out early and endorsed Harris was that they were attempting to get into good graces with the Harris campaign.

The source reported that the Clintons have been working toward this goal for a long period of time. The youngest Clinton is currently vice chair of the Clinton Foundation, which means she could easily give up the spot to do something more glamorous. She reportedly would also be open to a job in France. The source called all these hopes and plans “fantasyland.”

A British embassy official told the corporate press that typically the job of ambassador to the UK goes to an older official who is “a massive donor or fundraiser.”

Citing someone “in the know” the corporate press outlet claimed that Chelsea Clinton, 44, is generally interested in becoming an ambassador and isn’t super concerned with which country she gets assigned to, but clearly the UK and France are her top choices.

Current ambassador to the UK is businesswoman Jane Hartley, 74, who has been in the position since 2022. Hartley accepted the offer after former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg turned down the position. Hartley previously was the ambassador to France and Monaco during Obama’s presidency. She’s also considered a major fundraiser for the Democrats who generated $500,000 for Obama’s campaign.

During Trump’s presidency the role was occupied by Woody Johnson. Johnson owns the New York Jets and was a major Republican fundraiser in the 2016 election cycle. Someone “in the know” told the corporate outlet that countries tend to prefer famous people because that will get their concerns heard by the administration.

Chelsea Clinton is also a mother to three young kids with her husband Marc Mezvinsky and has previously lived in the UK during her time at Oxford. She earned her Master of Philosophy degree with a focus on international relations in 2003 and acquired a doctorate in 2014.
