Ellen DeGeneres Denies Reports of Flooding at UK Home Post-US Departure

(DailyAnswer.org) – Ellen DeGeneres recently addressed rumors about her U.K. farmhouse amid a celebration of her 20-year relationship with wife Portia de Rossi. The former talk show host assured fans their countryside home was unaffected by the severe weather sweeping parts of England.

“P.S. for those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did NOT flood,” DeGeneres wrote on Instagram, closing a heartfelt anniversary tribute to de Rossi. DeGeneres addressed these concerns, assuring fans their home was safe.

DeGeneres, 66, and de Rossi bought their English home after selling their Montecito, California property in August. The couple reportedly made the move following their discontent with political changes in the U.S. after Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential win. Reports suggest this decision stemmed from a desire for a quieter life abroad.

The pair began searching for homes in rural England last fall, with DeGeneres finding one she “loved” in October, according to sources. The purchase marks another chapter in their life together, which began in 2004 and led to their marriage in 2008.

DeGeneres celebrated their 20-year milestone with a glowing message on Instagram. “Twenty years ago today, we started this relationship not knowing what an amazing adventure it would become,” she wrote. “You are the best thing to ever happen to me. You help me see the good in everything, and you lift me up when I’m feeling down.”

She continued, “You are a beautiful soul, and I’m grateful to have you as my partner in this crazy life. I’m excited to explore the world with you for the next 20 years, starting with our first snowy Christmas.”

Since stepping away from the public eye after The Ellen DeGeneres Show ended in 2022, DeGeneres has embraced a quieter lifestyle. Allegations of a toxic workplace environment led to the show’s conclusion after 19 seasons.

In her comedy special, For Your Approval, she reflected on her departure from Hollywood. “I got kicked out of show business,” DeGeneres joked. “Apparently, the ‘be kind’ lady wasn’t kind. Had I ended my show with ‘Go f— yourselves,’ maybe people would’ve been pleasantly surprised.”

Now focusing on hobbies like gardening and raising chickens, DeGeneres seems content with her slower-paced life, enjoying her time with de Rossi and their new home abroad.
