(DailyAnswer.org) – Police are searching for a 54-year-old man named Hector Ramon Martinez-Ayala, who allegedly strangled his 25-year-old daughter, Marbella Martinez, to death. The incident took place in their home in Tooele, Utah, on August 1st. Authorities believe that Martinez-Ayala was jealous and had been stalking his daughter before committing the crime. An autopsy confirmed that Marbella died from strangulation.
Before her death, Martinez-Ayala reportedly sent a disturbing text to his twin brother, confessing to what he called an “unforgivable sin.” In the message, he said, “My brother, you know how much I love you. I made a big mistake, an unforgivable sin. Now I’m too scared, and I don’t know what to do.” He added that he didn’t think he would ever come back, implying that he was planning to flee.
Martinez-Ayala was a Salt Lake County sheriff’s deputy, which has shocked many people familiar with the case. He has now been officially charged with murder, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. It appears that he fled the country with the help of family members, and police are urging those involved to come forward with any information.
The events leading up to Marbella’s death were disturbing. According to court documents, her father had become increasingly obsessed and controlling. He allegedly used electronic devices to track her movements and stalk her. His behavior, prosecutors said, seemed more like that of a jealous lover than a concerned father.
Things escalated further when Martinez-Ayala found his daughter with someone she was romantically involved with on July 29. After this encounter, Marbella reportedly left her father’s home and stayed at a hotel. However, on July 31, cameras showed her returning to the house. Martinez-Ayala arrived two hours later, and her body was discovered soon after, lying on her bed with blood in her mouth and claw marks on her face and neck.
Tooele police believe that Martinez-Ayala had help escaping and are continuing to search for him. They hope his friends or family will help bring him to justice soon.
