On average, these states have seen a 515 percent increase in illegal immigrants. Arizona and Michigan stand out with more than 700 percent growth. To put it in perspective, these increases are larger than the margins of victory for the winning candidates in those states during the 2020 presidential election.
This population surge could play a major role in future elections, especially the upcoming one. In 2020, foreign-born voters leaned heavily toward Democrats. A recent report from the Center for Immigration Studies suggests that illegal immigrants could help Kamala Harris win the 2024 election. It estimates that if just 4.49 percent of non-citizens in Georgia and 5.13 percent in Arizona cast ballots, Harris would gain more votes than Biden’s slim 2020 margins in those states.
Jon Sutz, a writer on Substack, compiled data showing that illegal immigration is outpacing the vote margins in several battleground states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. For example, Georgia’s illegal immigrant population has grown by more than 400 percent since 2020, while Biden’s margin of victory in the state was just over 12,000 votes. In Arizona, illegal immigration has increased well beyond the 2020 margin of 10,000 votes.
Accurately counting the illegal immigrant population, however, is no easy task. A 2018 study showed that the total number of unauthorized immigrants in the U.S. could range anywhere from 11.3 million to over 22 million.
There are also allegations that left-wing groups are taking advantage of mass immigration to shift election results. An investigation by The Daily Wire found that organizations funded by billionaire George Soros have been working to naturalize non-citizens and encourage them to vote. These efforts aim to “sway the outcome” of elections in favor of Democrats. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) has claimed that Harris supports mass immigration to push America further to the left, ensuring Democratic dominance.
Elon Musk has echoed similar concerns, warning that illegal immigration gives Democrats a lasting advantage. With immigration surging and elections looming, the impact of these trends could be decisive.
