(DailyAnswer.org) – Music icons Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs have been named in a lawsuit alleging serious misconduct involving a 13-year-old girl at a party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. The anonymous accuser claims that Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, assaulted her, while Diddy and another individual were present.
The lawsuit, originally filed in October, alleged that Diddy committed the assault while two celebrities observed. In the updated filing, Jay-Z is named as one of the individuals allegedly involved in the incident.
Both Jay-Z and Diddy have denied the allegations. Through a statement on Roc Nation’s social media account, Jay-Z accused the accuser’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, of attempting to extort money. “This is not about justice—it’s about public pressure to force a settlement,” Jay-Z said. He firmly denied the claims and called on the accuser to file criminal charges if the allegations were true, rather than pursuing a civil lawsuit.
Diddy’s representatives issued a similar denial, calling the lawsuit a “shameless publicity stunt.” They expressed confidence that the legal process would vindicate him, stating that Diddy has never engaged in such behavior and looks forward to clearing his name in court.
According to the lawsuit, the 13-year-old girl was dropped off near Radio City Music Hall during the MTV Video Music Awards and began approaching limousine drivers to try to gain entry to the event. One driver allegedly invited her to an after-party, where the events in question reportedly occurred. The lawsuit claims that the girl was asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement upon arriving but was not given a copy.
The allegations have drawn widespread attention, given the high profiles of the individuals involved. Jay-Z and Diddy, close friends since the 1990s, are two of the most successful figures in music, with ventures spanning industries from entertainment to business.
As the case unfolds, both men continue to deny any wrongdoing. The lawsuit is expected to proceed through the courts, where more details and evidence may emerge.
