Migrant Boy, 13, Stabs Man After Victim Refuses Group Photo Request

(DailyAnswer.org) – A 13-year-old boy from Ecuador, living in New York City, has been accused of stabbing a man with help from three masked accomplices. The incident reportedly occurred after the victim refused to take a photo of the group.

The attack happened around 9 p.m. on Sunday near West 40th Street and Seventh Avenue. The teenage boy and his friends allegedly asked a 23-year-old man to take their picture, and when he declined, the group became violent. They punched him in the face and stabbed him in the back and leg using a brass-knuckle knife, authorities said.

The suspects also attempted to steal the victim’s cellphone but were unsuccessful. The victim reportedly refused medical treatment since the stab wounds were not severe.

After the attack, the group fled the scene. However, officers searching the area with the victim’s help were able to locate and arrest the 13-year-old suspect. He was charged with second-degree robbery.

The boy’s last known address is the Roosevelt Hotel, now used as a shelter for immigrants. A video shared by ViralNewsNYC shows the teen being led into the Midtown Precinct South station in handcuffs.

This is not the first time the boy has faced trouble with the law. Police sources said he was arrested on October 26 for his involvement in a chain-snatching incident on a northbound F train in Brooklyn. During that robbery, five individuals held down a victim who was sleeping and stole his chain.

The recent stabbing occurred near Times Square, an area often called the “Crossroads of the World.” It follows a broader trend of rising juvenile crime in the city. NYPD Chief of Crime Control Strategies Michael Lipetri told the Post that arrests of juveniles are at an all-time high. “We are seeing juveniles commit five, six, seven robberies,” Lipetri noted, adding that many young offenders are dealt with under family court laws.

Critics, like Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa, have raised concerns about the city’s handling of the migrant crisis and its impact on public safety. Sliwa claimed that illegal immigrants in the area often face no serious consequences for their actions.
