(DailyAnswer.org) – As the 2024 election approaches, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, who previously ran against Donald Trump in the Republican primary, has decided to back him for another term. Just days before Americans head to the polls, Haley wrote an opinion piece for The Wall Street Journal, titled “Trump Isn’t Perfect, but He’s the Better Choice.”
In her op-ed, Haley acknowledges Trump’s flaws but argues that his policies are far more beneficial than those offered by President Biden and Vice President Harris. “I don’t agree with Mr. Trump 100% of the time,” she admitted, “but I agree with him most of the time, and I disagree with Ms. Harris nearly all the time. That makes this an easy call.”
This endorsement might surprise some, as Haley has openly criticized and praised Trump in the past. She served under his administration as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations from 2017 to 2018, where she was vocal about her views, both positive and negative, on Trump’s leadership.
In her op-ed, Haley describes the Biden-Harris agenda as making the world “far more dangerous.” She points to national security threats, such as a “chaotic” southern border and the fallout from the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, which, according to Haley, emboldened adversaries like Russia and led to further instability in Ukraine.
Haley also raises concerns about the Biden administration’s approach to Iran, arguing that its policies have only strengthened the regime and emboldened it to support terrorist groups targeting Israel.
While Haley admits a Trump presidency wouldn’t be flawless, she suggests it would focus on practical priorities: tax cuts, increased support for American energy, and stronger international standing. “These are enormous policy differences that will affect the lives of every American and much of the world,” she wrote.
Haley concluded her piece by reminding readers that no politician is perfect, saying, “For those of us clear-eyed enough to see Mr. Trump’s flaws and honest enough to acknowledge them, the question is whether we’re better off with his policies or his opponent’s.”
Days before her op-ed, businessman Mark Cuban sparked a discussion by claiming Trump “doesn’t like strong, intelligent women” around him, directly mentioning Haley. But Haley remains undeterred, affirming to Fox News that she’s putting her support behind Trump, saying that while she doesn’t agree with everything he does, he is, in her view, the better choice over the Biden-Harris team.
