Senator Defends Trump’s Authority to Use Military for Deportations

(DailyAnswer.org) – Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) recently defended President-elect Donald Trump’s idea of using the military to deport millions of illegal immigrants living in the United States. Speaking on Fox News Sunday, Barrasso outlined his support for Trump’s agenda, including this controversial proposal.

When asked about Trump considering military involvement in mass deportations, Barrasso responded directly: “Well, I support the president.” He went on to describe the situation at the border as a “national security crisis” that justifies declaring a national emergency. “There are over 10 million illegal immigrants in the country right now,” he stated, emphasizing the scale of the issue.

Barrasso didn’t stop there. He painted a stark picture of the types of people he believes are crossing the border illegally. “We are talking about drug dealers, people in criminal cartels,” he said. “These are folks who have been murdering, raping, poisoning American citizens.” He argued that many Americans voted for Trump because they were scared and wanted action. “People want to feel safe in their own homes,” he said, tying safety concerns to Trump’s election victory.

The senator also pointed out that most Americans, according to him, support Trump’s plan for mass deportations. He criticized leaders in major cities and some states who oppose such measures, claiming they prioritize the “so-called rights of illegal immigrants” over the safety of their citizens. “We still have these big city mayors and governors who, unbelievably, care more about the rights of illegal immigrants than about the safety of their own citizens,” he said, calling for urgent action.

Barrasso framed Trump’s plan as a necessary step to protect the country. “We have to make America safe again, and what the president is talking about is the right thing to do,” he concluded, echoing a common theme of the Trump campaign.

While the proposal has sparked fierce debate, Barrasso’s comments reflect the strong backing Trump has from many within his party as he prepares to take office. Whether or not the military will actually be used for deportations remains to be seen, but the issue has clearly struck a nerve in the national conversation.
