(DailyAnswer.org) – Karoline Leavitt, the national press secretary for former President Donald Trump’s campaign, said that Hunter Biden’s conviction on three counts relating to gun charges is a “distraction” from the crimes of the “Biden Crime Family”. Leavitt’s comments come after a Delaware court found the president’s son guilty on June 11 in the criminal trial. Hunter was accused of lying about his drug addiction on an application for a firearm. The president’s son could face a maximum jail term of 25 years.
Hunter’s legal battles do not end with his gun trial in the year of the election; he faces a separate indictment relating to tax evasion after he allegedly failed to pay at least $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019. While Trump benefits from both his classified documents trial in Florida and his election fraud trial in Georgia being postponed indefinitely, Hunter’s legal battles are being used by the GOP to suggest that it is the Biden family, not Trump, that views itself as above the law.
FBI agent Erika Jensen testified at the gun trial and confirmed the authenticity of Hunter’s laptop, which President Joe Biden, other Democrats and former intelligence officials had previously claimed was the product of Russian disinformation. The laptop contained evidence that the president’s son was still a user of crack cocaine when he purchased the firearm in 2018.
Trump has repeatedly referred to the president as “Crooked Joe” in his speeches, and though clear proof of any links between Hunter’s business dealings and the president has not been established, Republicans have long linked the Biden family to numerous cases of bribery and influence-peddling across the world.
The House impeachment inquiry concluded that members of the Biden family and those linked to Biden businesses received over $15 million from individuals in China, Kazakhstan, Romania, Russia and Ukraine. Leavitt commented in her statement that the reign of the “Criminal Empire” will cease in November, accusing the Biden administration of selling government access for financial gain.
One of the most significant deals involved Hunter Biden and the CEFC China Energy Co., an organization linked to the Chinese Party. In 2023 the House Oversight Committee revealed that State Energy HK Limited, which is controlled by CEFC, was linked to $1.3 collective payments to the Bidens. One of Hunter’s contacts in the company, Patrick Ho, was jailed in 2019 for three years for bribing African leaders.
