Trump Declares Election Day ‘Christian Visibility Day’

(DailyAnswer.org) – Former President Donald Trump has vowed to make the day of the November 2024 presidential election “Christian Visibility Day” in response to President Joe Biden’s announcement of the “Transgender Day of Visibility” on March 31, which was Easter Sunday this year.

Trump declared in a post on his Truth Social platform that November 5 would be the most important day in the country’s history, with the biggest turnout of Christians in U.S. history. Biden took the opportunity to honor the “courage and contributions” of the country’s transgender community and stress the White House’s commitment to creating a “more perfect Union” where all people are created and treated as equals.

This is not the first time March 31 has been proclaimed a day championing social justice by a Democratic president. Former President Barack Obama declared in 2014 that March 31 marked Cesar Chavez Day. Chavez founded the United Farm Workers. Obama called on Americans to observe the day with suitable service and education programs to honor the activist’s legacy.

Biden encouraged Americans to raise up the lives and voices of the nation’s transgender people and work on erasing discrimination and violence based on gender identity. Trump slated Biden for showing “total disrespect to Christians” at a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He promised to immediately cut federal funding for any schools supporting transgender issues, critical race theory, and any other “inappropriate” content relating to race and gender.

Regarding devotion to the Church, Trump became the first president since Eisenhower to change faiths while in office, claiming to be a non-denominational Christian, having identified as a Presbyterian in the past.

Trump’s attack on the incumbent president prompted criticism from the White House, whose spokesman, Andrew Bates, pointed out that Biden, a practicing Catholic, celebrates Easter with his family. Other Republicans joined Trump’s campaign in showing anger at Biden’s announcement, some of whom argued he owed the public an apology. Trump pressed Biden to apologize to millions of Catholics and Christians, stating that Easter Sunday was for “one celebration only.”
