Trump Hosts 275 Linemen for Free at Resort Pre-Hurricane

(DailyAnswer.org) – Former President Donald Trump opened his Miami resort, Trump National Doral, to 275 linemen from the Florida Power and Light Company (FPL) as they prepared to help restore power after Hurricane Milton. The linemen were provided rooms at no cost, according to the Washington Examiner.

Eric Trump, the former president’s son, shared a video on social media showing the linemen arriving at the resort. In his post, he expressed gratitude for their hard work and praised them for helping Florida recover after the storm. He wrote, “Honored to have 275 incredible linemen from FPL at @TrumpDoral as they get ready to respond to the aftermath of Hurricane #Milton! You are amazing and the Trump Family, and entire state of Florida, appreciates you! Enjoy the rooms – they are the best in Florida! Be safe!”

Many social media users reacted positively to the gesture. One person wrote, “The Trump Family loves America! And America loves the Trumps! Thank you for the sacrifices you have made, and continue to make, on behalf of us all!” Another commented, “Amazing doesn’t begin to describe your commitment to the American people. Thank you.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also addressed the state’s preparations for the hurricane, saying they had over 37,000 linemen ready to respond as the storm approached. Breitbart News reported that DeSantis noted the importance of seeing linemen staged and ready to help. “Some of them have traveled a long way to be here and to help get the power back on,” he said. He also expressed hope that the number of workers would rise to over 40,000, more than the response for Hurricane Helene.

Hurricane Milton struck Florida as a Category 3 storm late Wednesday before it was downgraded to a Category 2 storm about 90 minutes after landfall. The linemen’s work is crucial to helping the state recover from the storm’s damage.
