Trump Plans Large Rally at Madison Square Garden, NYC

(DailyAnswer.org) – Donald Trump, the former president, is aiming to do something most people think is impossible: win New York as a Republican in the 2024 election. To kick off his push, Trump will be holding a rally in New York City on October 27.

According to the New York Post, the rally will take place at Madison Square Garden, often called “The World’s Most Famous Arena.” This historic venue has hosted big events in the past, including both Republican and Democratic National Conventions. Located in Manhattan between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, Madison Square Garden has seen a lot of political action over the years.

Trump’s rallies have already drawn big crowds in the state. Back in September, his event at Nassau Coliseum on Long Island attracted about 16,000 people. And earlier this summer, around 10,000 people came to his Bronx rally at Crotona Park, even though the permit only allowed for 3,500. It’s clear there’s some excitement building around his campaign in New York.

Trump has made it clear that he sees an opening in New York because of the changes in recent years. “New York has changed a lot,” he said in February. “We have migrants living on the streets, and crime is at record levels. People are angry, even Democrats. I think they might vote for me this time.”

Trump’s optimism doesn’t stop at New York. He believes other states that usually vote Democrat, like New Jersey, Virginia, New Mexico, and Minnesota, could flip to his side in the next election.

The last time a Republican won New York was back in the 1980s, when Ronald Reagan won the state in both 1980 and 1984. Since then, Democrats have dominated, with George W. Bush getting 40.1% of the vote in 2004, which was the highest percentage for a Republican in the last 24 years. Trump hopes to change that.
