(DailyAnswer.org) – President-elect Donald Trump gave a victory speech early Wednesday after winning the 2024 presidential election against Vice President Kamala Harris. Speaking from Mar-a-Lago, Trump promised a “golden age of America” and celebrated what he called the “greatest political movement of all time.” Just before 2:30 a.m., he took the stage to enthusiastic cheers, vowing to lead the country in a new direction and begin healing.
“This was the greatest political movement of all time,” Trump said, “and now it’s going to reach a new level. We’re going to help our country heal. It needs help, and it needs it badly.” Trump also committed to tackling issues at the borders and other areas of national concern, saying, “We’ve made history for a reason tonight.” He noted that his campaign overcame huge challenges to claim victory.
The victory came after a series of wins in key states. With Fox News projecting Trump’s win in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, and North Carolina, he surpassed the required 270 electoral votes by 1:45 a.m., officially defeating Harris. Pennsylvania, in particular, was seen as the tipping point, as both Trump and Harris campaigned heavily across the state to win support. Georgia was also hotly contested, but ultimately Trump emerged the victor.
Vice President-elect J.D. Vance joined Trump on stage to thank him and the crowd. “Thank you for trusting me to be part of this incredible journey,” Vance said. He described the win as “the greatest political comeback in American history,” promising that the new administration would work hard to deliver a strong economy for the American people.
Trump was joined on stage by his family, including former First Lady Melania Trump and his son, Barron. He also invited UFC CEO Dana White to speak and acknowledged Elon Musk and golfer Bryson DeChambeau, calling for Americans to join him in creating a safe, strong, and free nation.
Trump highlighted additional leads in Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, and Alaska, which could push his total to 315 electoral votes. He also celebrated winning the popular vote.
Meanwhile, the Harris campaign, seeing Trump’s lead grow, closed up for the night. Campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon urged supporters to head home and get rest. Campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond reassured supporters that every vote would be counted and that Harris would address the nation on Wednesday.
