Trump Promises Nationwide IVF Coverage for Workers

(DailyAnswer.org) – Former President Trump is making waves again with his recent promises. During a campaign rally in Michigan, Trump announced a bold new plan for his potential second term. He pledged to make in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments free for women, either through government funding or by requiring insurance companies to cover the cost.

“We want more babies,” Trump said to the crowd gathered at Alro Steel in Potterville, Michigan. He added, “Under my administration, your government or insurance will cover all the costs of IVF treatment.” For many families, this is huge news. IVF is extremely expensive, often costing tens of thousands of dollars per cycle.

Some women need several rounds, with no guarantee of success, making it a stressful and costly process. Trump didn’t stop there. He also proposed allowing new parents to deduct major newborn expenses from their taxes, easing the financial burden on families welcoming new children into the world.

The announcement comes as Trump faces sharp criticism from Democrats. His role in appointing the Supreme Court justices who overturned Roe v. Wade has been a key point of attack from the left. By overturning Roe, the decision on abortion has been returned to the states, leading to a range of new laws and restrictions across the country.

Despite this, Trump has been working hard to present himself as a moderate on women’s reproductive issues. He has even declared himself “very strong on women’s reproductive rights,” which may surprise some, given his role in the Roe v. Wade decision.

During a recent interview with NBC, Trump addressed Florida’s six-week abortion ban, a law signed by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis. Trump criticized the law as too restrictive, saying, “I think six weeks is too short. It has to be more time.”

Though he didn’t say exactly how he’ll vote on the issue, Trump made it clear that he believes women need more time to make decisions regarding pregnancy.
