(DailyAnswer.org) – On Sunday night, former President Donald Trump introduced a new policy idea during his rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The plan? To offer a tax credit to Americans who provide care for their family members.
Trump’s speech came after remarks from several of his campaign supporters, including former Democrats Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard, as well as his current running mate, Senator JD Vance. Once Trump took the stage, he told the audience it was time to honor those who take care of sick or elderly family members, recognizing the hard work they do, which often goes unnoticed.
He announced, “I am putting forward a new policy today: a tax credit for family caregivers who take care of a parent or loved one. It’s about time we recognized them, right?” His words were met with cheers from the crowd.
“They give so much to our country and are never spoken of, not even once,” Trump continued. “But they’re going to be spoken of now. Thank you all very much.”
Along with the caregiver tax credit, Trump brought up another issue. He said he supports the death penalty for any illegal immigrant who kills an American citizen or a police officer.
“I am hereby calling for the death penalty for any migrant that kills an American citizen or a law enforcement officer,” he declared, leading to even louder cheers and chants of “USA! USA! USA!” from the crowd.
Earlier in his speech, Trump kicked things off with a question made famous by former President Ronald Reagan. He asked his audience to think about their lives now and whether things were better or worse than four years ago.
“I’m thrilled to be back in the city I love, with thousands of hard-working American patriots,” he said, looking out at the crowd. “And I want to start with a simple question: Are you better off now than you were four years ago?”
The crowd’s response was clear and loud: “NO!”
In his rally, Trump not only made promises to support those caring for family members but also emphasized a hard stance on crime, calling for strict consequences.
