Trump’s Poll Numbers Exceed Those of Any GOP Candidate in Decades

(DailyAnswer.org) – Former President Donald Trump is polling better than any Republican candidate in the decades leading up to the 2024 presidential election, according to Breitbart’s Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow.

Fox Business Network anchor Larry Kudlow asked Marlow what he thought about the diversity of the “broad coalition” of voters, to which Marlow replied that President Joe Biden’s poor handling of the border crisis and “Bidenflation” had resonated with a lot of groups, including black voters, Hispanic voters and suburban women who “can’t be lied to anymore.” He noted that Biden was losing votes from the voting coalition he had counted on in the 2020 election.

As Biden’s approval ratings hit new lows, at least 70% of Republican voters are happy with Trump as the party’s presidential nominee, according to a January poll. Latest polls show that 17% of black voters would vote for Trump, more than twice the amount who voted for the president in 2016.

However, the polls do not represent the full picture. Only 38% of registered voters are Democrats, and 29% are Republicans, and the polls have only asked Republicans how they feel about Trump and Democrats how they feel about Biden. Furthermore, they do not take into account the threat posed by independent or third-party candidates, such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr, who is reportedly beating both Trump and Biden among voters under 45. The Quinnipiac poll in December 2023 found that Kennedy was favored by 40% of voters aged 18-34.

A survey of 12,693 adults in February 2024 conducted by the Pew Research Center found that roughly 26% of Americans have negative views of both Trump and Biden. Of those aged 18-29, 41% had unfavorable opinions of both candidates.

In his response to Kudlow, Marlow commented on the significance of Trump’s rating in the polls compared to previous Republican presidential candidates and stated that the Democrats were “scared” by the ratings. South Carolina Republican Tim Scott, the only black Republican senator who dropped out of the election race in November 2023, has publicly endorsed Trump. Despite Democrats being heavily critical of Trump’s controversial comments about black people liking him because of his mugshot, the Black Conservative Federation has also shown support for Trump and commented on X that the Democrats are in a “panic.”
