(DailyAnswer.org) – Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced that 26 sex offenders who were in the country illegally had been arrested during a three day operation in Los Angeles from the 18th to 20th of December. The crimes committed by the individuals from Mexico, El Salvador and Guatemala included offenses against children. The cases shared by ICE come as border crossings under President Joe Biden continue to break records. Biden’s administration has significantly limited ICE enforcement to focus only on migrants posing a public safety or national security risk and those who have recently crossed the border.
One 19-year-old from El Salvador was convicted as a result of the operation of forced oral copulation of a minor over 14 years of age, as well as battery by restraint. A 40-year-old from Mexico apprehended in the operation was convicted of continual sexual abuse as well as lewd acts with a child, and a 35-year-old from Guatemala who was convicted for molesting a child in an inhabited dwelling was arrested for deportation by ICE. In 2022, ICE arrested 46,396 foreign nationals with criminal history, including 8,164 who had committed sexual offenses. The previous month a 37-year-old Brazilian who had raped a child was arrested in Massachusetts.
As the border crisis worsens and the Biden regime struggles to keep on top of illegal immigration numbers, Texas is struggling to cope and in December 2023, contrary to the federal government’s position, enacted one of the strictest anti-immigration laws in the US by making it a jailable offense to cross the border illegally. Biden’s regime has seen mounting criticism for its handling of the migrant crisis. After it was reported in May 2023 that migrants were being released into the US with no way of tracking them while waiting for check-in dates that could be several years away, in July Biden announced plans to use ID cards to help track those waiting for court appearances. This move was still met with criticism by republicans, who argued it was rewarding rather than effectively clamping down on illegal immigration across the border.
