U.S. Sniper Drops Mexican With A Loaded Handgun At The Border

(DailyAnswer.org) – A U.S. Customs and Border Protection enforcement sniper has shot dead an armed Mexican national who pointed a handgun at another migrant on the border near San Diego, California.

The sniper eliminated the target from 275 yards away with a single shot. The sniper was deployed on March 3 to the Puebla Tree area of the Otay Mountains, a remote location far from the legal border entry region area. Border Patrol Tactical Unit agents were patrolling the area due to reports of armed robberies and attacks against undocumented migrants who had just crossed the border into the United States. According to the agency, a small group of BORTAC agents was positioned 70 yards north of the border in a ravine and another group, including the precision marksman.

The man killed by the sniper was a 32-year-old Mexican whose name has not been released. Shortly before 7 a.m. four individuals approached a group of at least 17 migrants. CBP officials stated that the four threatened the group and asked them for money based on the accounts given by the migrants interviewed and the hidden BORTAC agents observing the incident. ‘

One thief chambered a round in his revolver before pointing his gun at one of the migrants, which prompted the BORTAC sniper to fire a single round that struck and killed the alleged gunman. Border Patrol medics arrived to treat the man 15 minutes later and spent over an hour together with Cal Fire San Diego medics trying to revive the man. He was pronounced dead at 8:15 A.M. by a Sharp Grossmont doctor after medics at the scene were consulted.

In February Paul Faye of Cunningham, Tennessee was arrested after allegedly planning to execute a violent assault against federal agents at the U.S.-Mexico border with assistance from multiple militia groups. Faye was charged after a yearlong undercover investigation with possessing, selling or transferring an unregistered firearm. Faye claimed that he wanted to trigger a “domino effect” at the border and encourage others to support his efforts.

Agents found three migrants in the area in 2022 who had been shot and concluded that Mexican bandits shot the migrants on the Mexican side of the border before they crossed into the United States. Border Patrol agents apprehended the 17 undocumented migrants on March 3 but according to CBP the remaining three robbers fled back into Mexico.
