Woman Arrested Near White House for Threatening Trump

(DailyAnswer.org) – A Texas woman was arrested in Washington, D.C. on Friday, August 2 after she was alleged to have made threats against former President Donald Trump. The woman was reportedly carrying an unregistered firearm and loaded magazine at the time of her arrest. The incident follows after a July 13 failed assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump resulted in one dead rally-goer and three injuries, including Trump being hit in the ear by a bullet.

The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) identified the suspect as Christina Montoya, 41, of San Antonio, Texas. The MPD was tipped off by the Secret Service and Motoya was arrested without incident. She’ll face charges of possession of an unregistered firearm, carrying a gun without a license, and making threats targeting a former president.

Officials were unclear on what specific threats she made, only suggesting that the behavior began around July 20 which triggered an investigation.

The arrest follows just a few weeks after an attempted assassination against Trump. Errant bullets critically injured two attendees and killed a third. Trump was grazed in the side of the head, the bullet hitting his ear; had it been inches closer, it could have killed him.

The Secret Service has been under heavy scrutiny since the event after multiple security failures were highlighted and exposed publicly. The would-be assassin is alleged to be 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, but many have suggested there is more to the picture with the potential for additional shooters being discussed online.

Crooks was identified by police up to 90 minutes in advance of shots being fired. Secret Service claims they were unaware of Crooks’ presence until the shots were fired at which point Crooks was killed within seconds by counter-sniper teams.

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle stepped down amidst a chorus of calls for her resignation. Cheatle was appointed by President Joe Biden with the heavy endorsement of First Lady Jill Biden, according to reports.
