Wrestling Icon, Sid Vicious, Passes Away at 63

(DailyAnswer.org) – Sid Eudy, the pro wrestling legend known by many as Sid Justice, Sid Vicious, and Sycho Sid, has passed away after a battle with cancer. He was 63 years old. The news was shared by his son, Gunnar Eudy, on social media as fans mourn his loss.

“I am deeply saddened to share that my father, Sid Eudy, has passed away after battling cancer for several years,” Gunnar wrote in a heartfelt post on Facebook. “He was a man of strength, kindness, and love, and his presence will be greatly missed.”

Gunnar also mentioned that details about a memorial service would be shared soon and thanked everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

WWE confirmed Eudy’s death on social media as well, expressing their condolences to his family, friends, and fans. “WWE is saddened to learn that Sid Eudy has passed away,” the company posted, recognizing the impact he had on the wrestling world.

Sid Eudy, a native of Arkansas, began his pro wrestling career in 1987 with Continental Championship Wrestling, where he wrestled under the name Lord Humongous. Standing at 6-foot-9, he quickly made a name for himself by winning the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Southeastern Heavyweight Championship. He later teamed up with Shane Douglas to capture the NWA Southeastern Tag Team Championship.

Eudy’s career continued to rise when he joined the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) in 1991 as Sid Justice. He became a major force in the ring, challenging wrestling icons like Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VIII and feuding with The Ultimate Warrior.

After a stint in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) as Sid Vicious, he returned to WWF, where he won the WWF Championship twice—first against Shawn Michaels and later against Bret Hart. However, his career was marred by injuries, including a serious neck injury in 1997 that led to his release from WWF.

Eudy continued to wrestle in various promotions, including a return to WCW where he won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Despite a near-career-ending injury in 2001, he made sporadic appearances in wrestling until 2017 before finally stepping away from the ring.

Sid Eudy leaves behind a legacy as one of wrestling’s most formidable figures, remembered by fans and fellow wrestlers alike. The wrestling community has been sending their condolences to his family, honoring the impact he made in the ring.
