Trump May Miss Son Barron’s Graduation Due to Judge’s Order

(DailyAnswer.org) – Former President Donald Trump might miss his son’s graduation to attend his hush money trial instead, as New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan has refused to rule on Trump’s request to skip court that day to attend the event.

The judge has told Trump that he could face arrest if he does not appear at the daily court sessions of the criminal trial and has yet to say whether Trump will be allowed to attend Barron’s graduation from Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida. As things currently stand, the former president is expected to attend his trial in New York, which is 1,200 miles away.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, a Democrat, has charged Trump with 34 felonies. The former president is accused of covering up alleged payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels with falsified business records. Charges do not accuse Trump of covering up the sex scandal itself. Trump denies all the charges, but could face jail time if convicted.

The trial got off to a slow start on its first day when 50 jurors were dismissed after confessing they could not be impartial and fair in their verdict on Trump’s case. The former president called the trial a “scam” after no jurors were selected on its first day.

Merchan has reportedly acknowledged Trump’s request to skip court on May 17, but has yet to comment on it further. Piers Morgan, host of The Five on Fox News, encouraged Trump to attend his son’s graduation regardless of Merchan’s decision. The host said that any parent in the country would do the same regardless of their views on the 2024 presidential candidate and that arresting Trump for attending his son’s graduation would be political suicide for the Democrats.

Upon receiving the request, Merchan commented that whether it is approved depends on whether they are on schedule with the trial. Trump has long painted the multiple charges against him as acts of political persecution on the part of President Joe Biden’s administration. His adviser, Jason Miller, commented that the “Biden Trial” had become “disgusting” by threatening to bar the former president from attending his son’s graduation from high school.
