Chinese Illegal Alien Arrested On Military Base

(DailyAnswer.org) – An illegal immigrant from China was arrested in California after he drove onto a military base without authorization on March 27.

According to officials, the man ignored orders to leave the premises. Chief Patrol Agent of Border Patrol’s El Centro Sector Gregory Bovino said agents responded to the base’s call about a Chinese national entering the base. A U.S. Marine Corps Training and Education Command spokesperson said the individual tried to access the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center without valid identification documents.

The man was taken into custody after the base contacted Customs and Border Protection. When CBP agents responded to the report, they determined that he was a Chinese national who entered the U.S. illegally. The incident is being investigated amid fears that spies from Beijing are attempting to infiltrate U.S. military facilities. Bovino wrote on X that the purpose and intent of the unnamed individual are being investigated.

There have been over 100 incidents involving Chinese nationals infiltrating U.S. military bases in recent years. In 2023, Chinese nationals posing as tourists trespassed on a missile launch site in New Mexico. Large numbers of migrants who are reportedly disillusioned with the Chinese government have been illegally entering the U.S., particularly across the Darien route, which is the only overland pathway from South to North America.

In 2023, over 500,000 migrants entered the country via the Darien route. Just over 25,000 of these migrants were Chinese nationals, making them the most common nationality outside of the Americas to cross into the U.S. from the region.

TV personality Dr. Phil suggested China is sending migrants across the border into the U.S. to “bring farming seeds back.” He commented that whether they work in farming or industry, China’s government would expect them to “do certain things,” such as spying or obtaining plans from areas of industry they found work in after entering the country.

In 2023, a group of Republican senators led by Kansas Senator Roger Marshall called on the Department of Homeland Security to take immediate action over concerns that migrants were carrying out espionage for the Chinese government. In the letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the lawmakers stressed the national security risk posed by individuals with possible links to the Chinese Communist Party taking advantage of the catch-and-release policy of President Joe Biden’s administration.
